Christmas Day Nativity Mug

About this piece

Warm browns, soft gold, and deep blue create a devotional Nativity scene centered on Mary and the newborn Jesus. Mary wears a blue mantle over warmer colored clothing, while a haloed figure stands behind her and smaller figures gather near the child. The arrangement resembles traditional Christian icons, in which the most important people are emphasized through glowing halos and carefully ordered gestures. Rather than focusing on a broad landscape, the artwork keeps its attention on the people around the manger and the tenderness of the moment.
